The vision of the merging of a traditional job board with a capital or commodities futures dashboard is starting to materialize in the form of two new components: a Job Futures Board and a Job Futures Schedule (at least an MVP version with sample data). There are also samples of Job Futures with Tabulated Data.
As the websites says, the Job Futures Board is a dashboard of responsive changes to Job Futures published monthly. To understand how this works, consider the perspectives of the three participants:
Post Secondary Student: “Let me filter the Job Futures I am interested in. These are the month to month changes in these Job Futures. Is the Job Future relevant for me – likelihood of posting and skills? Does the location and compensation remain acceptable? Do I enroll or continue to pursue a Job Future?”
Employer: “Let me find the Job Futures my organization posted. Do these month to month data reflect the changes we made to the job – like changing a Remote position to New York or the compensation from 100K to 150k”
Educator: “Let me filter the Job Filters to areas in our ‘wheel house’. Are there any of these Job Futures we should ‘teach to’ or ‘build curriculum’? Should we signal or inform possible candidates through appropriate channels?
As the websites says, the Job Futures Schedule is published monthly events and interactions of Job Futures. The goal is identify what Job Futures are currently active, abandonded, and planned. An employer builds awareness and educators and students decide what ones to prepare for.
If your company is considering using Job Futures and their intended uses, these new components should reinforce how we propose using them to improve your future candidate pool.
We are planning a December Job Futures product release to do a more thorough introduction to the platform, let us know if you would like to join us.
